Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Sardine Jar Games ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you play Swingers (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Analytics Data (transmitted to our servers)

When you play Swingers, we collect the following information through our analytics service:

  • Anonymous player identifier — a randomly generated ID (UUID) created on first launch and stored on your device. It is not linked to your name, email, or account.
  • Session identifier and session count — a unique ID for each play session and a running count of how many sessions you have started.
  • Device information — device manufacturer (e.g., Apple, Samsung) and OS version (e.g., iOS 17, Android 14).
  • Platform — whether you are playing on iOS or Android.
  • Session duration — how long each play session lasts.
  • Gameplay progression — which levels you start, complete, or fail, including completion time in milliseconds and the reason for failure (e.g., death).
  • Gameplay metrics — aggregated in-session statistics such as average grapple rope length and average missed-grapple distance. These are used to evaluate level difficulty.
  • Stars collected — how many stars you earn per level.
  • In-app purchase events — whether a purchase was attempted, succeeded, or failed; the product ID; the price in local currency cents; and the ISO currency code. We do not receive your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, physical location, advertising identifier (IDFA/GAID), photos, contacts, or any other personally identifying information.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device (not transmitted)

The following data is stored only on your device in the app's private storage and is never sent to us:

  • Level completion status, star ratings, and best times
  • Audio volume, language, vibration, and battery-saver settings
  • Selected and unlocked character skins
  • Your analytics opt-out preference

User-Initiated Sharing

If you use the in-app share feature to share a screenshot, the image and any accompanying text are passed to your device's native share sheet. We do not receive this data — it goes directly to whichever app you choose (e.g., Messages, Instagram).

2. How We Use Information

We use the analytics data described above to:

  • Understand how players progress through levels and identify difficulty spikes or bugs
  • Measure session frequency and length to guide development priorities
  • Track in-app purchase funnel performance
  • Improve overall gameplay experience

We do not sell your information or use it for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

GameAnalytics

We use GameAnalytics to collect and process gameplay analytics. Data is transmitted to their servers at api.gameanalytics.com. GameAnalytics acts as a data processor on our behalf. You can review their privacy practices at gameanalytics.com/privacy.

Apple App Store and Google Play

In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Their privacy policies govern how your payment and account information is handled. We receive only the product ID and outcome of a purchase, not any payment details.

4. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Swingers is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@sardinejargames.com and we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

5. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Restriction — request that we limit how we process your data
  • Portability — request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests

Legal basis for processing

  • Analytics data: Legitimate interests (improving the game experience) — you may opt out at any time in Settings
  • IAP event data: Performance of a contract (processing your purchase)

6. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained by GameAnalytics according to their own retention policy. Data stored locally on your device remains there until you delete the App or clear its data through your device's settings. You may request deletion of analytics data associated with your anonymous player ID by emailing us at privacy@sardinejargames.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request."

7. Opt-Out of Analytics

You can disable all analytics collection at any time:

  1. Open the App
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy
  3. Toggle Analytics off

Once disabled, no gameplay data will be transmitted. Your previously collected analytics data may be retained by GameAnalytics per their policy; to request deletion, email privacy@sardinejargames.com.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date at the top. Continued use of the App after the revised policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
